Greetings from the Wada Na Todo Abhyan, As we all know, the issue concerning with the RTE act had almost completed the first phase of this act i.e. the process of notification for the implementation of this act like 25% reservation of seats in Govt. and private schools., particularly in neighborhood school for the EWS category. Though the implementation process had got started, but there seemed to be lots of grievances and hurdle both from the public and private sector in the true implementation of this act. Now, some of the rights to education activists think to have a one day meeting of all kind of stakeholders who are involved directory or indirectly to see the frustration of this act in full bloom. Subsequent to this, we are convening One Day Meet to discuss and debate the Status of RTE act at least in the four states of north-west India like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh UT. We are inviting all concerned activist/implementer and also some of the disadvantaged children’s parents. Broad discussion would be dealing with: 1. What RTE act stands for? 2. Status of RTE act implementation in three or four states like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh UT 3. Reasons for tardy implementation of this act from the private schools/unrecognized schools and govt. schools (Particular focus on 134A clause of this act) 4. How it can be made more effective. 5. Ultimate, the way out We are also inviting activists/scholars apart from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, UT to dwell on this issue and also from Luckknow and Delhi just to learn from their experiences. You are requested to join us at 10.30am for helping us to take stock of the prevailing scenario in the area of RTE act implementation process. We will appreciate your confirmation for joining in this meet as early as possible so as to fulfill the logistic purposes of the program With Regards Mr. Man Mohan Sharma Convener of Wada Na Todo Abhiyan, Punjab VHAP, Chandigarh -- Truth resides in every human heart, and one has to search for it there, and to be guided by truth as one sees it.
