The oregano/warm water 'shot' protocal knocked out my onsetting firey
throat as I was coming down with Strep. However, I chose to try and
make the 'gargle' a more pleasant experience! Here is a brief prep
work I added to lessen the somewhat 'warm' aftermath.
Prepare your 'gargle shot' and then use a second glass and put about a
shot's worth of olive oil in it. Using your finger as an applicator,
rub plenty of oil all around the outside of your mouth and inside your
lips. This will protect the skin since the componet that creates heat
in plants is fat soluble. Immediately after you've gargled and
swallowed, take a big drink of water to wash the rest down,(waste not,
want not) and then quickly get that oil into your mouth and swish for
a minute or so and spit. This eliminates most of the 'fire breathing
dragon' feeling the shot leaves behind!
